Don't throw those used dryer sheets away just yet! This is the perfect way to give them a second life, honoring my mother-in-law’s golden rule of wasting absolutely nothing.
1. Gather Your Supplies
You will need one used dryer sheet (the kind you just pulled out of the dryer), a pair of rubber gloves, and your trusty toilet brush.
2. The Gentle Scrub
Put on your gloves. Take the damp, used dryer sheet and gently rub it along the inside of the toilet bowl, paying special attention to the water line and just under the rim where hard water stains love to hide. You will feel the grime lifting away almost instantly!
3. The Final Flush
Once you have scrubbed the entire bowl, simply drop the dryer sheet into the water and flush. The sheet will break down and wash away easily, leaving behind a clean, fresh-smelling, and streak-free porcelain surface.
The "Avocado Lover's" Post-Chore Calming Ritual
Since I have a strong personal preference for avocados and incorporate them into almost every single aspect of my life (even though my children absolutely do not share my liking for them, which just means I get to enjoy the whole, glorious batch all to myself!), I always use a little post-chore self-care to reset my nervous system after tidying up the house.
Handling cleaning tasks, even gentle ones, can be surprisingly taxing on the joints and the mind! To ground myself, I prepare my go-to 3-Ingredient Circulation-Supporting Snack:
Ingredients You’ll Need:
- ½ large, ripe avocado: The creamy, heart-healthy foundation packed with monounsaturated fats.
- 1 slice of hearty whole-grain toast or crispbread: For steady, fiber-rich energy.
- A squeeze of fresh lemon juice & a tiny pinch of flaky sea salt: The lemon provides a bright hit of Vitamin C, which is essential for building strong collagen to keep capillary walls flexible and resilient.
