The stages of the ritual
1. Prepare a foot soak.
Fill a basin with warm water and add half a cup of white vinegar. Soak your feet for 20 minutes: this softens the nails and eliminates surface bacteria.
2. Brush gently.
With a soft nail brush, gently clean each nail to remove impurities and smooth the top layer.
3. Apply a baking soda paste.
Mix baking soda with a few drops of water until you get a thick paste. Spread it on your nails and leave it on for 10 minutes.
4. Rinse and file.
Rinse thoroughly, then dry your feet well. Use a file or pumice stone to reduce the thickness, proceeding gently so as not to weaken the nail.
5. Moisturize.
Finish with a nourishing oil (coconut, sweet almond) or a moisturizing cream to strengthen and protect the nail.
